TRAI Regulation

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is an independent regulatory body to oversee the telecommunications industry in India.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has issued new Regulations which are applicable to all cable & DTH operators. Under these new regulations which will be implemented soon, the Broadcasters have declared the rates of their respective channels. Customers can subscribe to these channels and

Broadly, your subscription charges would include two components. The first one  is called the Network Capacity Fee (NCF). It is like a rental charge on the subscription. The other is the price of any pay channels that you select, either as a la carte or as part of any bouquet/ combo. Channels can be either free (Rs.0) or paid channels with a  declared per month MRP. The prices of bouquets, combos and add ons, along with their channel

Network Capacity Fees (excluding taxes):

130* for first 75 pay SD channels + 25 mandatory Doordarshan channels
Additional NCF of 20* for every block of 25 pay SD channels
In case any subscriber wants to avail only FTA channels, the NCF will be 130*
1 HD channel = 2 SD channels
Applicable taxes extra

Since the prices are now declared by the broadcasters, there would be few channels available at Rs. 0. However, network capacity fee is still applicable on subscribing to such channels. Yes, the deadline has been extended to March 31st however the DPOs are required to move the customers to the best fit pack (such customers who have not given their choice to the DPO till now) and also to give the option to the customers to change their pack / give their choice to the DPO before March 31, 2019. Upon receipt of such choice, the customers will have to be moved to the option  given by them.

You will not be charged any extra amount if you recharge within 3 days after your due date when your account is deactivated because of non-payment of the subscription fee. After 3 days, you will have to pay a nominal amount of Rs. 25/- as Fee to cover CAS, middleware and other administrative costs incurred toward maintaining your account when it is deactivated.

Yes, you may recharge your DishTV account through an SMS if you are an ICICI Bank account holder.

A few minutes of outage might occur in extreme weather conditions like heavy rains or when the sun comes in the line of the satellite and earth. This phenomenon is called RAIN OUTAGE/SUN OUTAGE and occurs in DTH platforms across the world. This is typically for one or two minutes in a year, outage gets corrected by itself as it is automatically detected.

Set Top Box & Hardware

A Viewing Card is a credit card sized Smart Card, which contains information about the channels that the customer has subscribed to. When inserted in the set-top box it enables viewing of the channels chosen by the subscriber. You must take care of this card and note down its unique VC Number in a safe place and mention it in your every communication with us.

You will get new card from dealer by paying Rs. 300/- again while the deposit of the lost/damaged VC is forfeited.

  • Press the OK and 0 keys together on the DishTV Universal Remote until the TV mode LED turns red: this shows that the remote is ready to learn.
  • Place the DishTV Universal Remote on a flat surface. Take your TV remote and place it in front of the Universal Remote so that their LED lights face each other directly. The distance between the remotes should be 5cm.
  • To program the Universal Remote’s TV power button, press the TV power key on the Universal Remote. The red TV Mode LED on the DishTV Remote will blink once to confirm that you can proceed.
  • Press the power key on the TV remote. The red TV Mode LED on the Universal Remote will blink twice to confirm that it has learned the command.
  • You can follow the same process for VOL UP/DOWN. MUTE, SOURCE & Navigation(UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT/OK).
  • To save the learned commands, press the TV power key on the Universal Remote until the red TV Mode LED blinks thrice.
